Hingham Bay Racing 2023 Results

Awards to be distributed at the 2024 Skipper’s Meeting

We had another great season racing on Hingham Bay on Wednesday nights. This year we had a lot more weather events effecting our racing, with bunch of nights cancelled due to bad weather (4, if I remember correctly and one Weekend Race). Even with the cancellations we had some great nights of racing, we even got to race one night under a Blue Moon on August 30th.

In 2023 we had a grounding at low tide off of Bumpkin Island, a couple of skewering events, a boat running into the RC anchor line before a start, a downwind start, a course that went all the way into Mark #37 deep into Hingham Bay, and a few protests heard.

As you may have noticed from in-season posts here on our web site, we also started a new practice this season; having boats submit a race recap for each Wednesday night race. This was a fun way to get participation from the fleet and let others know how each week looked from a different perspective. The inaugural winner was the crew of Little Wing and skipper Brian Cardarella with a great recap that can be read here.

Here are the major results of our summer of racing. For full results, please visit Regattaman.
